Chinese Delegation Visit

A delegation from the People’s Republic of China has paid a visit to Britannia Royal Naval College for insight into basic training in the Naval Service.The group of five senior officials from the Chinese Naval Engineering College met with representatives from Flag Officer Sea Training, HMS Raleigh in Cornwall, the Commando Training Centre, Lympstone, and BRNC for a briefing on the new entry courses for Royal Navy Officers, Ratings and Royal Marines Commandos.
During their visit to Dartmouth the Chinese delegation were given the opportunity to meet staff and talk to some of the Officer Cadets currently under training at the College.  They were also taken on a tour of the Sandquay facilities on the River Dart and witnessed training on the river. 
Captain Henry Duffy, the Commanding Officer of BRNC, said:  “The College regularly receives visitors from overseas Navies and we were pleased to welcome the Chinese delegation.  We share a common aim with all our international guests in that we all strive to provide the best possible training to prepare our men and women for a challenging career in an operationally demanding environment.  It is always mutually beneficial to share training methods and ideas.”
