Chief of Kenyan Defence Forces visits BRNC

The Chief of the Kenyan Defence Forces, General Samson Mwathethe made a return visit to BRNC, 37 years after completing training at the College. During his visit he also met Commodore Bob Fancy, Commander Core Training.

In 1980 General Mwathethe commissionad as a Seaman Officer from BRNC and is now the highest ranking officer in the Kenyan Defence Forces. He took the opportunity to visit the College after his meeting with the Chiref of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshall Sir Stuart Peach which reaffirmed Defence ties between the UK and Kenya. 

During his vist the General was briefed on today's initial naval training course. In discussion it became clear that while training has chnged in the intervening years the core ethos and values remain the same. General Mwathethe was particularly interested in the coaching policy and developmental packages now used by the College, which he felt could be paralleled in his Defence Forces.
