A Night at the Movies

Cadets and staff at Britannia Royal Naval College enjoyed a night at the movies courtesy of the Movie Machine - a HGV lorry that turns into a fully equipped cinema.

The Movie Machine, operated by the Services Sound and Vision Corporation (SSVC) in partnership with Sky Cinema, arrived at BRNC and parked up on the establishment's parade ground. Over 100 Officer Cadets, Toung Officers and members of BRNC ,ilitary and civilian staff took the opportunity to watch the latest action spy comedy 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' starring Colin Firth, during three showings of the film.

Drinks and popcorn was on offer, arranged by LPT Rachel Luckham which meant the screening also raised £100 for local charities.

SSVC was formed in 1982. Although a private company limited by guarantee, there are no shareholders. Instead the company is a  self-supporting registered charity whose annual suprpluses, after deducting an amount needed to sustain operational needs, are donated as welfare support to the Armed Forces.
