BRNC were the victors of the recent inter-collegiate games against RAF Cranwell. Held at BRNC the copetition saw nearly 150 participants in seven different sporting disciplines.

In a hard fought series of games the RAF were victorious in volleyball (3:2) and water polo (7:6) but BRNC took the honours on the football pitch (4:1) and the rugby field (29:0).

Tug-of-war saw a lead of two pulls for the BRNC team before the RAF fought back to ultimately take the match 3:2.

New to the Cranwell team was a one kilometre gig race on the River Dart. Prior to the race the BRNC Crew and their trainer, LPT Sarah Rushton spent an hour introducing them to the event but ultimately the BRNC crew won by a two and a half minute margin.

This meant with honours even everyting rested on the final event; the eight discipline 'Superstarts' competition. POPT Howard Peplow said: "The whole event was a huge success. The competitiveness and fitness levels were very high, but the fact that our cadets undergo disciplined sessions, known as Initial Military Fitness, shoed in the final Superstars event." The BRNC team won by 90 seconds.

Prior to the games starting the RAF team enjoyed a tour of BRNC from a BA Tour Guide and everyone enjoyed the social on the Saturday night when cadets could relax and share training experiences. The return match at RAF Cranwell will takeplace during the centenary year of the Royal Air force.
