Britannia Royal Naval college took both the men's and ladies' title at the 2017 South West United Services League, Cross Country.

The sixth and final race in the season took place at HMS Raleigh in December with the course consisting of undulating grassland with a small copse switchback circuit within the establishments real estate. 

The BRNC team wins were enhanced by individual performances and awards. In the veterans category Lt Cdrt Tilda Woodard took first place in the Ladies section and Warrant Officer1 Sean Childs was runner-up in the mens. Officer Cadet Jonaton Pawson came fourth in the Senior Mens and in the Juniors section OC FLeur Peoples took the ladies titles and OC Chris Argles was runner-up in the junior mens. 

WO Childs, the Physical Development Officer at BRNC said; "The league has proved once again to be a huge success with over 400 athletes competing in at least one round. This is testament to the perseverance, leadership and encouragement of the relevant team managers. The prize list also reflects the widespread captive audience and community it attracts."
